    Chapter Index

    With Nan-seol’s appearance,

    Clang! Clang!

The immediate combined attack of Sun-woo and Nan-seol began pushing the red-eyed swordsman backward.

Sun-woo’s heavy sword and Nan-seol’s free-flowing sword harmonized with each other to pressure the swordsman, and though the swordsman was managing to block the two’s attacks well, his movements looked quite uncomfortable due to the wound he had received from Sun-woo’s attack.

Moreover, without even giving him time to stop the bleeding, the blood flowing from his side was wetly soaking his pants.

“Looks like he’s going to get a good beating this time.”

Charlotte, who was watching the fight, clicked her tongue softly.

“Anyway, I can’t let him die here.”

Charlotte glanced at Caroline, who was bowing her head and crying, then raised her hand toward the people fighting.

    “First, one.”

Her hand spread toward Nan-seol, and a black hole appeared behind Nan-seol, who was just stepping backward.

    “Ah!”

Startled Nan-seol left only her voice and disappeared into the hole. Shortly after, even the hole that had made Nan-seol disappear vanished from the air.

    “And next.”

Charlotte’s hand now turned toward the startled Sun-woo.

    “Farewell.”

It was the moment Charlotte’s hand was about to spread while whispering softly. Charlotte looked down in surprise at the burning pain rising from her leg.

There was a hand gripping her ankle.

“No, no. I can’t lose them too.”

Caroline, who had been crying, was gripping Charlotte’s ankle and muttering softly.

“Argh, h-how is your ability suddenly…”

Charlotte turned her hand toward Caroline with a face twisted in pain.

Charlotte’s leg that Caroline was gripping was gradually disappearing. Seeing her leg turning into bright light, Charlotte tried to draw up her ability.

Charlotte couldn’t understand it. Caroline’s ability wasn’t one that could activate this quickly. Moreover, it was even harder to penetrate an ability user’s resistance, which was why it had been concluded to be unsuitable for combat.

But seeing Caroline, Charlotte was soon able to realize the reason.

    “R-right now? Bad timing.”

She sent the ability she had gathered in her hand toward the red-eyed swordsman instead of Caroline.

A black hole appeared in front of the swordsman who was fighting fiercely with Sun-woo, and the moment the startled swordsman looked back at her, he was sucked into the hole.

Charlotte laughed at the sight of the swordsman’s surprised eyes as he looked at her. Well, he couldn’t not be surprised at the sight of her with her lower body almost completely disappeared.

If Charlotte had any chance of survival, she would have sent Caroline elsewhere. Or she herself would have escaped.

But realizing it was already too late, Charlotte used her last remaining strength to evacuate the swordsman.

She no longer felt pain. She looked one last time at Caroline, who continued crying.

Charlotte felt a bit regretful. The colleague they had parted from was returning as a colleague again, but unfortunately she wouldn’t be able to welcome her.

Charlotte, who had been looking at Caroline until the end, disappeared from the beach with light.

Fortunately, until then the party had been enduring the attacks of the cloaked figures well. Though killing the cloaked figures was impossible, they were maintaining an equal fight by utilizing telekinesis, guns, and Daniel’s defense well.

The cloaked figures attacking the party stopped their attacks when Charlotte vanished and began leaving the beach.

The party, bewildered by the sudden change, sat down wearily.

“If they don’t give proper points this time, I’ll ram into both the association and the Summoner.”

Michael growled with a tired face, and Hayden lay flat on the ground as if he didn’t even have the energy to make a retort. But Daniel, who had been continuously watching Caroline, opened his mouth with a worried expression.

    “Caroline seems strange.”

“Why? She said she couldn’t fight but delivered a decisive blow well enough.”

Michael shook his head as if annoyed, but the situation flowed strangely as Daniel said.

The area around Caroline began gradually brightening.

Sun-woo, who was barely pulling himself together and approaching Caroline, frowned at the situation before his eyes.

The light started from beneath Caroline’s hands as she sat on the ground with her head bowed. The light was gradually spreading, and the sand beneath her hands was gradually turning into light and disappearing.

‘Is she using her ability on the ground? Why?’

    “Caroline?”

Even at Sun-woo’s call, Caroline only continued to keep her head directed downward.

That’s when someone flashed through Sun-woo’s mind.

    ‘Could it be?’

Sun-woo hastily opened his phone and pointed the camera at Caroline.

Caroline’s skill appeared on the phone.

    Caroline Von Space – Contaminating.

    <Annihilation> – Transformation in progress.

    “Damn it!”

A curse burst from Sun-woo’s mouth. As Sun-woo had expected, she was being contaminated like Chang-jeol.

    “Don’t come closer!”

Sun-woo first restrained Daniel, who was getting up out of worry, and drew his sword again from his phone.

    “What’s happening?”

Daniel’s startled voice was heard, but Sun-woo wasn’t in a situation to answer his words.

Certainly her behavior had been strange since a while ago. Violent emotional ups and downs and guilt. And the enhanced ability she had shown just before. Everything was indicating she was contaminating.

Whether she was now contaminating because she had been a summoned for too long or because of receiving various shocks was unknown, but first he had to deal with her who was right before his eyes.

The <War Wheel Divine Sword> in Sun-woo’s hand trembled finely like Sun-woo’s heart.

Sun-woo was seriously conflicted right now. If he left her alone like this, another contaminated summoned would appear.

Moreover, her contaminated ability that she had shown just before had displayed terrifying power.

The moment she was caught in her hands, the opponent instantly vanished.

Moreover, even at this moment, Caroline’s ability seemed to be getting stronger.

The sand beneath her hands was disappearing faster and faster.

    ‘Should I kill her?’

Time passed and the scale in Sun-woo’s heart gradually tilted in one direction.

That’s when Michael’s grumbling voice from afar reached Sun-woo’s ears.

“No, what are we supposed to do if someone gets sick in a place like this? We can’t even get medicine here.”

It was typical Michael, but Sun-woo’s mind snapped alert at one word in his statement.

    “Medicine!”

Sun-woo frantically opened his phone to check his inventory.

It was there. The pill that had passed through the sacred maiden’s hands was there.

Sun-woo took out the pill and rushed at Caroline.

The party’s startled voices were heard from afar, but Sun-woo was busy avoiding Caroline’s hands.

Caroline’s hand swept through the air, and Sun-woo’s collar and hair that her hand grazed disappeared while emitting white light.

Sun-woo, who couldn’t tell which part of her arm was safe, used all the martial arts he possessed to avoid Caroline’s hands while pushing the pill into her mouth.

Confirming the pill had entered her mouth, Sun-woo struck Caroline’s neck with his hand blade, and

    Cough, cough.

Caroline, whose breath was blocked, eventually swallowed the medicine.

It was certainly a crude method to use on a woman, but her hands were too scary to pass it with a kiss.

Sun-woo quickly retreated backward, and the startled party ran toward Sun-woo.

Fortunately, Sun-woo’s gamble seemed to have succeeded. Caroline, who had swallowed the medicine, suffered for a long time before eventually falling asleep.

As she fell asleep, her ability also calmed down, and Sun-woo’s phone also indicated that she had returned to normal.

As the sacred maiden had said, the pill that had passed through her hands seemed to have the ability to return contaminated people to normal.

But whether people or creatures who had already finished contamination would return to normal like Caroline, who was in the process of contamination, was unknown.

    “Experiments will be necessary.”

When Sun-woo nodded while lost in thought, Daniel, who had watched this scene from beside, carefully asked Sun-woo.

    “Is Caroline alright? What happened?”

Not just Daniel, but the entire party was looking at Sun-woo with curious faces. It seemed some explanation was needed.

“Caroline has had depression and seizure symptoms from before. Unluckily, her ability went out of control along with the seizure, making it hard to give her medicine. She’s stabilized now so she’s fine.”

It was all lies. For Sun-woo, who couldn’t reveal that summoned could be contaminated, this method was the best.

The party members who heard those words didn’t look good when looking at Caroline. Everyone was gradually retreating backward with frightened faces. It seemed the party had greatly misunderstood Caroline.

Fortunately, no contaminated beasts were visible on this beach. Though the party was all exhausted, they began moving to make a raft again. Even if no danger was visible now, this was a place where danger could strike at any time. They had to escape this place as quickly as possible.

    “I’ll go look for Nan-seol.”

“She was blown away by spatial movement. How do you plan to find such a person?”

“Won’t those guys above send her back on their own?”

Sun-woo shook his head at the party’s words.

“Probably, they moved her inside this continent so she wouldn’t be summoned.”

“You’re going to search the entire continent? This place is ridiculously vast.”

As Hayden said, this New Continent wasn’t a place where you could find a person even after searching for several years.

But Sun-woo also had a place he could guess.

“I’ll look around a bit first and return before the raft is completed.”

Leaving those words, Sun-woo began running toward the inland.

Sun-woo ran the path he had taken before again. Fortunately, with time passed, the contaminated beasts that had been wandering outside had entered their dens, and the few remaining beasts could be avoided with Sun-woo’s senses.

Sun-woo ran toward the base as carefully as possible.

He was able to meet Nan-seol at a place that left about half the distance to the base.

Sun-woo ran to meet Nan-seol, who was running with a serious face while being chased by contaminated beasts, and Nan-seol greeted Sun-woo with surprised eyes.

    “I came to meet you.”

At Sun-woo’s words, Nan-seol sighed with relief, and in the meantime, the beasts that had attacked were killed by the two’s swords.

After that, the two carefully headed toward the beach using Sun-woo’s senses.

When Sun-woo brought Nan-seol, everyone happily welcomed Nan-seol and looked at Sun-woo with curious expressions.

“How did you know the spatial movement point?”

Hayden asked the party’s curiosity as a representative, and Sun-woo answered that question with a troubled expression.

“Well, she was originally the ability user guarding that base, and seeing that the cloaked guys also went back, I thought it might be so…”

    “And?”

Even Nan-seol was looking at Sun-woo with a curious expression.

“Tsk, the rest was just guessing. I just felt it would be so.”

“Ho, did the red thread tell you?”

Hayden and the other men looked at the two with narrowed eyes, but Nan-seol only smiled slightly.

Fortunately, the raft could be made quickly.

The party, loading the continuously sleeping Caroline onto the boat, launched the completed raft toward the sea where the morning sun was rising, and Hayden began driving the raft toward the island.

Thus the party bid farewell to the New Continent on the raft.
