    Chapter Index

    Boom!

Flames swept through the village. The remaining burnt houses were set ablaze again, and the corpses of dead monsters were cooked by the fire.

The horses that had been fleeing in panic from the wyvern were also engulfed in flames, and even the surrounding earth glowed red hot and began melting.

The wyvern that had been circling the village while spewing flames roared and slowly descended to the village square once the entire village was burning.

    Roaaaaar!

The fire in the square was momentarily subdued by the wyvern’s wing beats, and after landing in the square, the wyvern tilted its head while looking around the square. This was because the number of prey was insufficient, perhaps blown away by the wind.

But soon the wyvern began eating one of the lycanthrope corpses that was still emitting smoke.

While the wyvern was enjoying its meal, the ground behind the wyvern where the flames had gone out began to twitch.

At that moment, the wyvern noticed the ground movement and raised its head from its prey, but before that, there was someone who burst out from underground.

    “Waaaaaah!”

It was Daniel with <Body Enhancement> applied to his entire body. As soon as he burst out from the earth, he swung his greatsword at the wyvern’s leg.

    Thud!

Blood spurted, and the swung greatsword lodged deeply into one of the wyvern’s legs.

    Graaaaaah!

The wyvern’s scream echoed through the burning village, and Daniel excitedly tried to pull out his sword.

But unfortunately, the sword didn’t seem to be lodged very deeply in the leg.

The wyvern shook its leg in pain, and Daniel was flung forward along with his sword. Thanks to this, more blood spurted from the leg, but Daniel ended up in front of the wyvern’s flame-filled beak.

The enraged wyvern opened its mouth toward Daniel, but the wyvern’s flames went flying in the wrong direction.

In the meantime, Sun-woo, who had followed Daniel out from underground, ran up the wyvern’s body and struck the wyvern’s head with his sword from behind its neck.

    “Ugh, it’s too hard.”

But Sun-woo’s sword only barely cut through the wyvern’s hide.

Just before, to block the flames, he had poured all his internal energy and sorcery to cover the party with earth. Thanks to this, the party could all survive, but it was a situation where Sun-woo’s internal energy had been drained.

Even so, seeing that even Sun-woo’s peak-level swordsmanship couldn’t properly cut through the hide, the toughness of the wyvern’s skin seemed worthy of recognition.

Fortunately, he succeeded in deflecting the flames, but the situation was changing for the worse.

The wyvern stomped on Daniel with its uninjured foot, then gripped him and began flapping its wings.

Sun-woo, who had clung to the wyvern’s body fearing they would be hit by flame attacks again if they fell, soon regretted his decision.

The wyvern soared up into the sky, up into the sky.

The wyvern that had risen to tremendous height in an instant didn’t think of attacking the ground again and tried to return to the mountain range as it was.

    ‘This is bad!’

Surprised Sun-woo lay flat on the wyvern’s back and raised his sword. He had to make it go back down.

Sun-woo concentrated his mind and began pushing internal energy into his sword. After a moment, Sun-woo began stabbing the brightly glowing sword into the back.

    Guaaaaah!

The wyvern began screaming in pain and thrashing about.

    “Aaah!”

Thanks to this, Sun-woo also danced while hanging from his sword, and the wyvern began staggering and falling downward.

“No! What do I do if we fall like this!”

Sun-woo screamed while hanging from his sword.

Fortunately, the wyvern soon came to its senses. The wyvern began flapping its wings again and started flying toward its nest with difficulty, bleeding from its neck and leg.

    ***

The wizard who had emerged from underground looked at the wyvern flying toward the distant mountain range with a dumbfounded expression.

He was overwhelmed trying to keep up with the continuously changing situation.

The suddenly appeared wyvern and the man with earth-moving sorcery, and the battle with the wyvern.

When he barely came to his senses, the wyvern was flying away into the distance with the two men.

Fortunately, the surrounding fire was now almost extinguished. Since it was a place that had already burned once, it was quickly going out.

The wizard pulled out the two wounded knights and his horse from underground. The horses the knights had been riding had thrown off the knights they were carrying in panic and ran away, but his horse had been buried underground with him.

The wizard groaned as he loaded the two knights onto his horse. Though the horse groaned from the weight, he couldn’t leave the two knights behind like this.

The wizard began leading his horse out of the village. Since there were many places still emitting heat, his steps were very cautious.

After exiting the village and walking toward where the servants were, the wizard began organizing in his mind what to report to the imperial court.

Soon the wizard’s forehead was deeply furrowed. There was simply no answer.

Because he was walking while sighing so deeply that the ground seemed to sink, he only noticed when he got very close that there were people he’d never seen before standing where the servants had been.

    “Who are you?”

The wizard’s eyes sharpened and his hand let go of the reins as he gripped his magic staff with both hands.

In reality, using magic was almost impossible, but there was no reason to let the strangers know that.

“We came to help Knight Daniel.”

The newly appeared party consisted of two men and one woman wearing unusual clothes. Whether the woman was the superior or not, when the wizard showed wariness, she raised both hands to show she had no intention of attacking.

These were the aftermath processing team: Caroline and two subordinates.

The wizard relaxed a little after checking her words and the clothes they were wearing. It was the same clothing as the man he had seen earlier.

    “Ah, imperial secret agents?”

When the wizard immediately acted like he knew, the two men looked puzzled, but Caroline immediately nodded in agreement.

“Yes, that’s right. Did another agent go first?”

Caroline, who knew from the mission content that it was about summoned Daniel, immediately realized from the wizard’s words that another combat summoned had appeared.

“Tsk tsk, things got rather troublesome.”

At her question, the wizard clicked his tongue lowly, and Caroline realized from his appearance that something had happened to the two people who weren’t visible here.

While Caroline’s subordinates were getting the knights down from the horse, the wizard explained to Caroline what had happened in the village.

After hearing his entire story, Caroline looked a bit worried.

    “So Mr. Sun-woo came here.”

She looked toward the distant mountain range then soon shook her head. There was no way she could step in to help. She could only wait for them to return safely.

“They’ll return safely. In the meantime, let’s resolve our side of things.”

“Right. We need to report immediately. It seems the monsters from the eastern mountain range are swarming down. Daniel’s worries were all true. And… Huh? Why are these guys like this?”

Wizard George stopped talking mid-sentence and looked puzzled at the servants standing there with blank expressions.

“Ah, it’s because of that problem. Could you look at this for a moment?”

At the wizard’s question, the man standing behind Caroline showed the wizard his clenched fist. Naturally, the wizard focused on the fist, and after a moment the tightly clenched fist opened.

    Flash!

Light poured out from the opened hand.

“During the battle between the wyvern and Daniel, Daniel was captured by the wyvern. You have never seen or heard of any imperial secret agents. And…”

The man began telling the wizard with a blank expression new memories clearly, and Caroline turned her head to look toward the distant mountain range.

Meanwhile, on the wyvern flying high above the mountain range, Sun-woo was shouting loudly.

    “Thank goodness. You were alive.”

“Yes, fortunately there don’t seem to be any major injuries.”

Sun-woo was having a conversation by shouting with Daniel, who was caught in the wyvern’s claws.

Unfortunately, Sun-woo, who hadn’t yet learned sound transmission techniques, had no choice but to shout to talk with another person on this high-speed moving wyvern.

The same was true for Daniel, who had just awakened from unconsciousness.

Daniel had immediately lost consciousness from the wyvern’s claw that struck down at him, but fortunately his sturdy armor and his <Body Enhancement> ability had maintained his life until here.

He broke into a cold sweat at Sun-woo’s words that he had almost died attacking the wyvern during flight, and unconditionally agreed to wait for the wyvern to return to its nest since there was no choice.

But both men’s thoughts changed when they could see the distant wyvern nest.

They saw countless wyverns circling above a huge cliff on one side of a ridge.

Looking at the direction the wyvern carrying Sun-woo and dangling Daniel was flying, it didn’t seem to have any intention of going anywhere else.

“I think we need to get off in the middle.”

Daniel, who was hanging from the wyvern’s claws, shouted upward. It was one wyvern causing this much trouble, so jumping into a place with so many wyverns made no sense.

But from his recent experience, Sun-woo found it difficult to readily agree to those words. Daniel might be able to endure with his <Body Enhancement> ability, but for Sun-woo, whose body itself was ordinary despite learning martial arts, it would be difficult to survive falling from this height.

But Sun-woo, who had been continuing such thoughts, soon had no choice but to sigh at his own foolishness.

Sun-woo took out his phone with his left hand that wasn’t holding his sword and pointed the phone camera at Daniel.

Sun-woo pressed the phone screen with difficulty due to the tremendous wind, and soon text appeared on the screen.

    Indomitable Will 80p

    Body Enhancement 200p

    Kingdom Standard Swordsmanship 40p

    These were Daniel’s skill prices.

Sun-woo currently had 280 points. He could definitely buy it.

“I have a request! If you hear a voice, please give permission!”

While shouting to Daniel, Sun-woo pressed on the <Body Enhancement> text.

But instead of a voice, a window appeared before Daniel’s eyes. It seemed like they couldn’t connect with the Summoner from here.

[Min Sun-woo has requested the Body Enhancement skill. If you give permission, Body Enhancement skill information will be transmitted. Will you give permission?]

Daniel could only give a small laugh at the window that appeared before his eyes. In the current situation, it was absolutely impossible to refuse this request.

“You’ll have to treat me later!”

    “Of course!”

Sun-woo immediately answered his words, and Daniel nodded while looking at the screen.

    [I give permission.]

Fortunately, acquiring skills seemed to be fine even without being connected to the Summoner. Daniel’s <Body Enhancement> information poured into Sun-woo.

Separate from the energy gathered in his dantian, he felt new energy settling near his heart, and soon he could know how to use that energy.

Energy that seemed smaller than a grain of rice. This wouldn’t be nearly enough. But Sun-woo knew how to strengthen energy.

He didn’t know if this technique would work, but since it had worked on <Sorcery> and <Illusion Arts>, it was definitely worth trying.

Sun-woo cast <Body Enhancement> while beginning to send the internal energy residing in his dantian toward his heart.

    Whoosh!

Peak-level internal energy freely enveloped the energy settled in his heart, and the internal energy soon transformed into the energy that had been in his heart and spread throughout his body.

    “Ugh!”

    Sun-woo grimaced.

Blood vessels swelled and muscles strengthened, causing pain throughout his body. Sun-woo’s lean body changed into a muscle-bound body that seemed ready to tear his clothes, and his skin became hard and gleaming in the sunlight.

It was a success. But because the <Body Enhancement> skill was low level, the consumption of internal energy was severe, so he couldn’t delay any longer.

    Sun-woo immediately shouted to Daniel.

“Get ready. We’re going down now!”

Without waiting for Daniel’s answer, Sun-woo began forcefully cutting sideways with his sword infused with internal energy.

The sword loaded with enhanced strength and internal energy began cutting through the wyvern’s neck, and the wyvern screamed as it fell.

    “Waaaaaah!”

Daniel’s scream echoed high in the air.
