Chapter 246 – Mount Hua is Submerged in Blood, and Fist Demon Walks the Blood Path (3)

    Whoosh!

The Banner of Hundred Battles swung toward Cheon Oh-kyung's head.

The flag, large enough to wrap around two adults, and its iron pole were more lethal than any weapon. However, it wasn't enough to harm a master of Cheon Oh-kyung's caliber.

Cheon Oh-kyung lightly moved his body to avoid Cho Yeon-woon's attack. Though Cho Yeon-woon charged at him frantically, he couldn't even graze his clothes.

Cho Yeon-woon's eyes were completely bloodshot, and fresh blood was seeping through the cloth wrapped around his chest. Yet Cho Yeon-woon kept charging madly as if he couldn't feel the pain.

The pain in his heart had consumed his physical pain. Though he was raging madly without feeling pain now, after some time he would collapse from exhaustion.

Cheon Oh-kyung looked into Cho Yeon-woon's eyes, reddened with grief.

    He felt the gut-wrenching pain.

This was the pain he had wanted Cho Yeon-woon to feel. Yet strangely, achieving his goal didn't bring him peace.

He thought seeing Cho Yeon-woon's face filled with despair would somewhat ease his mind, but instead it made him feel uncomfortable.

    'How shameful.'

Cheon Oh-kyung shook his head and stepped back.

He had lost interest. Continuing to toy with Cho Yeon-woon any longer didn't suit his nature.

A man filled Cheon Oh-kyung's vacant spot. He thrust his long spear like lightning.

    Bang!

An explosion rang out as the Banner of Hundred Battles and spear collided. Cho Yeon-woon couldn't withstand the opposing force and stepped back five or six steps. Deep footprints were left where he had retreated.

    "Kid, you're mine."

The man who spoke while extending his spear was Dan Ho-sang, called the Invincible Spear in the Demonic Cult.

A peerless warrior when wielding a spear, he too was one of the Seven Great Demon Masters.

His eyes were filled with anger. Not anger toward Cho Yeon-woon, but toward the Banner of Hundred Battles he held. Any Demonic Cultist would feel the same way.

Dan Ho-sang glanced at Cheon Oh-kyung. Though he had said those words, he couldn't fight Cho Yeon-woon without Cheon Oh-kyung's permission.

Cheon Oh-kyung nodded, granting Dan Ho-sang's request. Now the fight was out of his hands.

    "Huh!"

Cheon Oh-kyung sighed softly and looked back. He saw Sage Hyeon-geom approaching him.

"You are a very cruel person, Senior."

"I showed an unseemly side. I pretended to be above worldly desires, but in the end, I'm just a human who couldn't escape desire."

Cheon Oh-kyung's face was full of self-loathing.

    "Drive out the Demonic Cultists."

    "Trample Mount Hua."

Even at that moment, Mount Hua Sect warriors and Demonic Cultists were fighting fiercely.

A chaotic battle without distinguishing friend from foe unfolded, and already many had lost their lives. The blood people shed was staining pure Mount Hua red.

Mount Hua Sect's leader Sage Hyeon-cheon was engaged in fierce combat with Mad Demon Hall Master Hwang Yeol, and other elders were instinctively fighting masters of similar levels.

    Everyone was raging with bloodlust.

It was a world where humans had become demons. The scene before them vividly showed how terrifying humans could become when their humanity was paralyzed.

Among them, only Cheon Oh-kyung and Sage Hyeon-geom remained calm. At least that's how it appeared on the surface. But intense tension flowed invisibly between them.

Even to Cheon Oh-kyung's eyes, which were so arrogant they cared about no one in the world, Sage Hyeon-geom's achievement seemed extraordinary. The same was true for Sage Hyeon-geom.

'He is different from any warrior I've ever met.'

Nerves were tightly drawn, and every muscle in his body was tense. The stiffness climbing up his spine made even his neck rigid.

This was the first time he had felt such tension since fighting Dam Ho. Speaking of which, Dam Ho suddenly came to mind.

    'I wonder how he's doing?'

    Heh!

A smile rose unconsciously. He found himself amusing. Just until recently he had thought of Dam Ho as a mortal enemy, yet now in this moment of crisis, he was thinking of him, which was utterly ridiculous.

    Cheon Oh-kyung asked:

    "What's so funny?"

"Just finding it amusing how desperately I've lived until now."

    "Is that so?"

"The idle talk has gone on too long. We're not in a position to chat so comfortably."

"You wouldn't let me withdraw even if I wanted to, would you?"

"If the Demonic Cult's headquarters were trampled, would you let them go, Master?"

    "Of course not."

Cheon Oh-kyung shook his head with a bitter smile.

He had avenged his disciple by finding Cho Yeon-woon, but in doing so, he had entangled Mount Hua Sect in another grudge. Thus the cycle of grudges continued endlessly, and once entangled, it could never be broken.

    "Huh!"

    Shing!

As Cheon Oh-kyung sighed, Sage Hyeon-geom drew his sword. It was a sword made by a famous craftsman in Huayin County. Though not a divine sword with spirit energy piercing the heavens, its hardness was beyond description.

Sage Hyeon-geom with his drawn sword looked like a well-forged sword itself. Cheon Oh-kyung nodded and picked up an iron sword lying nearby.

Whether its previous owner was a Mount Hua Sect disciple or a Demonic Cultist didn't matter. As long as it was sturdy enough to withstand his internal energy.

    Cheon Oh-kyung said:

"You are the first warrior in decades to make me draw a real sword."

    "That's an honor."

"I will give it my all."

At Cheon Oh-kyung's words, Sage Hyeon-geom smiled faintly.

Looking at Cheon Oh-kyung before him, Sage Hyeon-geom found the reason why he had undergone such difficult training until now.

'I must surpass him for Mount Hua to survive.'

Mount Hua was his everything. So he fights for Mount Hua.

Sage Hyeon-geom gripped his sword tighter.

Their gazes met briefly in the air.

Deep, quiet eyes observing each other's inner selves.

    Tap!

Without anyone moving first, they both charged at each other simultaneously.

    Clang!

    The two clashed.

Sharp sword sounds echoed across the battlefield.

    "Hyah!"

Sage Hyeon-geom's sword drew a line in the air.

    One Character Wisdom Sword.

The incomprehensible sword technique at the pinnacle of Mount Hua Sect's hundreds of martial arts was unleashed toward Cheon Oh-kyung.

    Whoosh!

The air was cut and space was severed.

Even in such a critical situation where ordinary people would have died instantly, Cheon Oh-kyung remained calm.

    Battle Sword Style.

The practical sword technique born and perfected on the battlefield was unleashed through his hands.

    Clash!

Their swords met in the air.

    ***

    Bang! Boom boom boom!

With explosions, Deung Cheon-so's body was continuously pushed back. Deep footprints were left where he had retreated.

Deung Cheon-so's hair was completely disheveled. Through the roughly tangled hair, fierce eyes blazed.

    "You!"

    Deung Cheon-so growled.

His entire sword arm was trembling. It was from the impact of clashing with Dam Ho.

Dam Ho, who had pushed back Deung Cheon-so with a single strike, was now facing Jin Hye-won without even time to catch his breath.

    Swish!

Jin Hye-won's whisk chaotically crossed the air.

The five-colored whisk moved dazzlingly, disrupting Dam Ho's vision.

Wrapping, swinging, striking, the whisk's variations were endless. And Jin Hye-won understood and could use the whisk better than anyone.

Enormous energy was concentrated in the whisk.

    Bang!

The whisk that came in like a snake struck the ground, creating a huge crater. If Dam Ho hadn't dodged in time, he too would have taken serious damage.

"How long do you think you can dodge?"

Jin Hye-won shouted viciously while swinging her whisk.

    "You!"

    Deung Cheon-so joined in.

    Swoosh!

His sword continuously released sword energy.

The sword energy penetrated the space created by the whisk.

Though unintended, their joint attack perfectly complemented each other's weaknesses, pressuring Dam Ho without giving him room to breathe.

    Bang! Bang!

Explosions continuously rang out and the air shook.

The cliff where the three fought was completely destroyed and reduced to ruins.

A flash of fear appeared in Jin Hye-won's eyes.

Even with two of the Seven Great Demon Masters, each said to be able to shake the world alone, attacking together, they still couldn't gain a clear advantage. That's how extraordinary Dam Ho's martial power was.

'Did he bring his previous life's achievements with him? How can such a young one have this level of internal energy?'

    Deung Cheon-so ground his teeth.

Of the two swords he held, one had numerous cracks in its blade. A sword made by the world's finest blacksmith should never break like this. Yet it was about to shatter from clashing with Dam Ho.

He exchanged glances with Jin Hye-won. Though not a word was spoken, they understood each other's intentions.

    "Hyah!"

Deung Cheon-so shouted loudly and threw his sword like lightning.

    Clang!

His sword exploded right in front of Dam Ho's face. Dozens of sharp sword fragments scattered in all directions. Each fragment became the world's sharpest hidden weapon and attacked Dam Ho.

It happened so suddenly there was no time to dodge. Moreover, Jin Hye-won was attacking without missing this opportunity. It was truly a perfect joint attack.

In this critical moment, a powerful energy swirled around Dam Ho's entire body.

    Crack!

It was the Violent Demon Energy that generated energy by rotating like the Spinning Energy Technique.

The sword fragments that had become hidden weapons turned to powder and scattered, and Jin Hye-won's whisk was torn to pieces.

    "Ugh!"

    "Huh!"

Exclamations of surprise burst from both their mouths simultaneously. Dam Ho's response exceeded their imagination to such an extent.

    Swoosh!

    The air split.

Dam Ho rushed through the gap.

    Bang!

    "Kyaah!"

An explosion rang out. And Jin Hye-won's sharp scream echoed.

Her body was flying backward. She had been hit by a Fortress Piercing Kick. Fortunately, she had concentrated energy in both arms to block, so she didn't suffer serious internal injuries.

But she was so startled that her heart pounded as if it would jump out of her mouth, and ringing in her ears disrupted her movements momentarily.

Dam Ho didn't miss this momentary opening.

His hand pressed against Jin Hye-won's back. He was about to unleash the Five Finger Dark Breaking Energy.

    "Not a chance."

At that moment, Deung Cheon-so swung his sword toward Dam Ho's back.

If he unleashed the Five Finger Dark Breaking Energy on Jin Hye-won now, he would allow Deung Cheon-so's strike to his back. In such situations, ordinary people would naturally retreat or dodge to protect themselves. But Dam Ho wasn't ordinary.

Dam Ho used the Five Finger Dark Breaking Energy without a moment's hesitation.

    Swoosh!

    "Kyaah!"

Jin Hye-won's back was torn in a spiral pattern as she coughed blood. In exchange, Dam Ho allowed Deung Cheon-so's strike.

    Stab!

    The sword penetrated bare flesh.

The feeling of the ice-cold blade cutting through flesh was vivid. If it went just an inch deeper, internal organs would be cut. That's what Deung Cheon-so intended as he applied force to his sword.

    Thunk!

But Deung Cheon-so's sword stopped, unable to penetrate Dam Ho's back any further. As if caught between massive rocks.

Though it was an extremely brief moment, Dam Ho's muscles clamped down on the blade with immense force, preventing it from penetrating further. It was a miracle created by a body trained to the extreme.

    "What?"

Deung Cheon-so's eyes widened at this unprecedented feat. He was so surprised he even lost grip on his sword handle.

Dam Ho, with the sword still stuck in his back, struck Jin Hye-won's side.

    Crack!

    "Kuh!"

As her ribs completely caved in, Jin Hye-won vomited blood.

Even in the shock that made her consciousness fade, Jin Hye-won drew up her energy and struck Dam Ho.

    Bang!

A strike unleashed with the Yellow Jade Demon Hand hit Dam Ho's chest. From the impact that shook his chest, Dam Ho's body jerked and blood appeared at the corners of his mouth.

Dam Ho had also suffered considerable internal injury. But even then, there wasn't the slightest change in Dam Ho's eyes. He was like a monster that couldn't feel pain.

At that moment, a smile appeared on Dam Ho's lips. His smile, showing teeth stained red with blood, was as desolate as a midwinter cold wind.

The smile of one without emotions made Jin Hye-won even more afraid.

    "Ugh!"

    "Stop!"

Jin Hye-won let out a fearful groan, and Deung Cheon-so rushed in to save her.

At that moment, Dam Ho's hands grabbed Jin Hye-won's nape.

    "Kuh!"

Jin Hye-won unconsciously let out a scream-like groan at the powerful grip choking her.

    Whoosh!

Then came a dizzying feeling of floating. Her legs left the ground as her body crossed the air.

    Bang!

    Earth-Shattering Strike exploded.

Jin Hye-won trembled on the ground where she had fallen. Though she had barely avoided her head being crushed by turning it at the last moment, from her shoulders down was completely shattered and she couldn't use any strength.

Dam Ho sat on top of Jin Hye-won's fallen body.

    "Ah!"

When their eyes met, Jin Hye-won unconsciously let out a fear-filled groan. She was terrified. In her fifty years of life, she had never been this frightened.

In Dam Ho's pitch-black eyes, Jin Hye-won saw her death.

    "P-please spare…"

    "You vicious!"

Deung Cheon-so, who had arrived late, attacked Dam Ho's neck with his remaining sword. He was trying to take his head.

    Boom!

At that moment, violent energy swirled around Dam Ho's entire body. The Violent Demon Energy had erupted.

    "Kyaah!"

Jin Hye-won's body, pinned under Dam Ho, was torn apart by the violent energy. Her beautiful face was ripped to pieces, revealing red flesh. But even that was brief as her head and upper body exploded, leaving no trace.

    "Ugh!"

Deung Cheon-so was also caught in the violent energy.

When Deung Cheon-so, who had protected his entire body with defensive energy, came to his senses, the warrior known as Jin Hye-won no longer existed in this world. Only pieces of flesh presumed to be her remains were scattered on the ground.

    Deung Cheon-so shouted:

    "You demon!"

Dam Ho wiped the blood from his mouth as he stood up. Deung Cheon-so's sword was still stuck in his back.

The White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion and Sword Hero Squad warriors immediately formed a circular formation to secure their retreat route from the stairs.

The Evil Sect members also observed the situation and temporarily stopped their attacks.

Soon Ye Jin-gyeong and four warriors came down from the main mountain with difficulty. Ye Jin-gyeong’s expression was devastated.

The White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion and Sword Hero Squad waiting at the mountain gate had also lost nearly fifty men. About five White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion warriors, and the rest were Sword Hero Squad casualties.

While it was fortunate that the White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion warrior casualties were relatively few, the numbers already lost to Jin Ja-gang were too great.

In comparison, among the nearly thirty Evil Sect members, only ten casualties had occurred.

    Ye Jin-gyeong’s face hardened greatly.

Remnant Wind Guest shouldered his axe and sneered.

“Running away with your tail between your legs?”

Ye Jin-gyeong didn’t even look at Remnant Wind Guest, clenching his jaw and swallowing his anger.

From up the stairs, Gu Ryun signaled to the Evil Sect members to let them pass.

The Evil Sect members split left and right to clear a path.

Even during this, the Evil Sect members threw mocking words at Ye Jin-gyeong and his warriors.

“Look, these guys can’t even make eye contact?”

“Heh heh heh, where’s their guts? Can they even perform as men at night?”

Ye Jin-gyeong and his remaining men’s faces contorted. However, since they didn’t want any more confrontation, they endured and left the mountain gate. It was clear they intended to return soon for a life-or-death battle.

Tang Ha-ran, who had gotten up, felt relieved seeing Jin Ja-gang coming down.

Jin Ja-gang felt the same way.

    “Are you alright?”

Jin Ja-gang helped Tang Ha-ran stand up. Tang Ha-ran couldn’t walk properly with her legs extended, seemingly due to stomach pain.

“I’m fine, it’ll get better in a little while.”

Tang Ha-ran wiped the blood from her lips while grimacing.

    “What about you?”

    “I’m fine.”

Soso, who had been hiding, came out to tend to the injured and then came to check on Tang Ha-ran’s condition. After feeling Tang Ha-ran’s pulse, Soso looked at Tang Ha-ran with surprised eyes.

Soso examined her pulse more carefully for a moment, then nodded. Then she went to check on other injured people.

Gam Chung, who came down afterward, patted his belly and said.

“Never worry about Poison Dragon again. It’s a luxury. Poison Dragon alone killed three times the number you guys killed of those White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion dogs.”

Only four White Tiger Earth Emperor Pavilion warriors had survived and come down.

The Evil Sect members looked at Jin Ja-gang with new eyes.

Remnant Wind Guest scratched his head.

“What? Was Poison Dragon really that good? Hmm.”

Since he had struggled against just six men, there was already an objective difference. There was nothing more to argue about.

A little later, Flower Snake Divine Woman came to see Jin Ja-gang and Tang Ha-ran.

“You were a great help. Without you two, we would have been in some danger too. But as of today, you two have completely made enemies of the Orthodox Path.”

Jin Ja-gang was indifferent while Tang Ha-ran showed a bitter expression.

For Jin Ja-gang it was familiar business, but not for Tang Ha-ran. Though she had been prepared for this from the moment she chose her current actions, the anxiety she actually felt was greater.

    Flower Snake Divine Woman said.

    “Then leave quickly now.”

    “Right now?”

“As I said, the Martial Alliance won’t give up here. As soon as they replenish their forces, they’ll come rushing in with even greater numbers than now. Perhaps… even this evening?”

    Gam Chung said.

“That’s right. So when your limbs are intact, why delay? Just leave now.”

“Then what about all of you…”

    Gu Ryun answered.

“We have to wait since we need to protect Fairy Maiden. You’ve fulfilled your role as promised. There’s no reason for you to stay with us longer. Fairy Maiden will be grateful too.”

Jin Ja-gang looked at Bian Bu and Soso.

Bian Bu bid farewell to Jin Ja-gang.

“We’re in the same boat with Fairy Maiden, so we have to act together. We can’t escape Sichuan on our own anyway.”

Soso also greeted with her eyes.

Since it had been discussed even before the fighting began, the parting was a predicted event.

Jin Ja-gang had business to do in Guizhou, and now that the Sword Hero Squad from Guizhou had taken a hit was the best time.

Jin Ja-gang cupped his fists and bid farewell to the remaining Evil Sect members.

The Evil Sect members also casually greeted Jin Ja-gang.

    “See you again, Poison Dragon.”

Remnant Wind Guest in particular added one more thing.

“I’m glad we didn’t meet as enemies.”

Jin Ja-gang smiled at Remnant Wind Guest, said farewell to Bian Bu and Soso once more, and descended Qingcheng Mountain with Tang Ha-ran.

    * * *

There would certainly be surveillance from various groups at the bottom of Qingcheng Mountain. However, Jin Ja-gang actually followed the same path the Martial Alliance warriors had taken down.

    “Your courage is really something.”

    Tang Ha-ran laughed.

However, it wasn’t just a matter of courage. He was exploiting a psychological blind spot.

The two walked the path affectionately as if leisurely strolling. Tang Ha-ran was even holding Jin Ja-gang’s arm.

They came down to the village at the bottom of the mountain without any interference.

The Martial Alliance warriors were not visible in the village below the mountain. Perhaps worried about being ambushed by the Evil Sect, they seemed to have retreated to villages further away.

However, Jin Ja-gang and Tang Ha-ran couldn’t follow them that far.

Jin Ja-gang looked around the village and said.

    “The surveillance network is tight.”

Jin Ja-gang had developed a habit of constantly watching and observing his surroundings. Thanks to Venerable Woo-am, his internal energy achievement had increased, making his energy perception much more sensitive, but his survival instincts cultivated through training and habit were even more developed.

Jin Ja-gang changed paths and wandered around the Qingcheng Mountain area. However, something seemed unsatisfactory as he couldn’t open a path and proceed further.

    “Wouldn’t this path be okay?”

    “I don’t hear bird sounds.”

Jin Ja-gang circled around the mountain base again and stopped on a small path.

    Caw caw.

A crow’s cry was heard. A single crow was sitting on a high tree branch crying.

However, Jin Ja-gang didn’t proceed forward even from there.

    “The crow is crying?”

“Crows are curious, so when people are nearby, they follow and cry. On the other hand, sparrows stop crying when you approach closely. Insects that make bell-like sounds behave similarly to sparrows.”

“Ah, where on earth did you learn such things?”

“I learned while traveling through forests. Anyway, this way won’t work. Let’s go back.”

Even after circling nearly half the mountain and wandering for more than half a day, Jin Ja-gang couldn’t find a way out.

“The wind direction isn’t helping either.”

When wind blows from the front and you go against it, you leave scent behind. Trackers could follow. However, even when it blows from behind, you similarly can’t smell the watchers.

When finding a path, Jin Ja-gang tried to consider all situations and choose a route that could avoid surveillance as much as possible. However, it wasn’t going as well as he thought.

Tang Ha-ran hadn’t received tracking education, but her high internal energy allowed her to smell well and sense human presence.

As Jin Ja-gang said, Qingcheng Mountain was almost surrounded.

“It’s not just one or two sects. They seem to have completely encircled the Qingcheng sect.”

Looking at the traces or energy left by hidden watchers, it definitely wasn’t just one sect. Among them, the Tang family would certainly be included.

Jin Ja-gang was worried about Venerable Woo-am and the Evil Sect members. Bian Bu and Soso were also in very dangerous situations.

However, even if he went and informed them, they wouldn’t abandon Dan Ryeong-gyeong and come down. Seeing how they said they couldn’t escape Sichuan on their own, they probably predicted the current situation to some degree.

Jin Ja-gang and Tang Ha-ran wandered until night but found no passable path.

“It seems we’ll have to break through by force.”

The wider the encirclement spread, the thinner the net itself had to be. Since the entire encirclement couldn’t be composed only of masters, many with low martial arts skills would also be included.

If breaking through by force, they would need to flee as quickly as possible before the encirclement tightened.

But then Jin Ja-gang quietly smelled the wind.

As night fell, the grass scent became thicker. It was much easier to smell than during the day.

    “What’s wrong?”

“It’s a direction where headwind is blowing and grass insects are crying, but unlike other places, almost no sweat smell is coming from there.”

    “Really?”

“When you drink a lot of alcohol, sweat smell faintly carries alcohol fragrance, and when you eat meat and other cooked foods, body scent becomes thick. This direction seems to have almost no such smell.”

    “That means.”

Tang Ha-ran thought for a moment and said.

“Either luckily there’s a hole in the encirclement or there’s an incredible master there.”

    “That’s probably it.”

“Anyway, we have no choice but to gamble.”

Jin Ja-gang and Tang Ha-ran killed their presence and carefully proceeded through the grass.

However, as soon as they entered the forest, they stopped. Under a tree ahead, a nun from Mount Emei was sitting in meditation waiting for them!

In the darkness, the nun’s thin lips were smiling in the moonlight.

“That was good insight. But you missed one thing. We at Mount Emei don’t eat cooked food or drink alcohol, so our bodies always smell of tea fragrance. Tea fragrance is fragrant grass smell.”

The nun had even been listening to Jin Ja-gang and Tang Ha-ran’s conversation.

    Tang Ha-ran’s eyes widened.

“Mount Emei’s Sect Leader Divine Nun!”

It was Divine Nun. Why was Divine Nun here?

Divine Nun looked at the two with a bewitching smile.

“You look happy, which is good. Young people bloom flowers even on battlefields. But think of your luck as bad…”

Suddenly Divine Nun’s gaze changed. Divine Nun suddenly stopped talking and approached. Divine Nun reached toward Tang Ha-ran. She had suddenly attacked without any fighting spirit or killing intent.

Tang Ha-ran used the Tang family’s Golden Thread Hand to deflect Divine Nun’s hand. Divine Nun’s hand skillfully penetrated and grabbed Tang Ha-ran’s wrist. When caught by a master’s wrist, internal energy penetrates and subdues you.

Already from the moment of being caught, Divine Nun’s pure internal energy was entering through the pulse points.

Tang Ha-ran gritted her teeth. She pulled her hand out accepting that her wrist might break. While doing so, she kicked at Divine Nun. Divine Nun grabbed and bent Tang Ha-ran’s fingers while blocking Tang Ha-ran’s foot with Tang Ha-ran’s back of hand.

Jin Ja-gang was also greatly surprised, raised his internal energy, and immediately threw his body toward Divine Nun. For Jin Ja-gang, this might have been the first time he rushed at someone without regard for consequences.

Divine Nun bent and pressed Tang Ha-ran’s fingers while using Tang Ha-ran’s body as a shield to interfere with Jin Ja-gang.

    “Kugh!”

Jin Ja-gang nearly lost his reason to anger. Killing intent stretched out in streams.

However, Divine Nun’s actions went only that far.

Divine Nun immediately released Tang Ha-ran and stepped back.

Then she exclaimed and recited a Buddhist invocation.

“Ah! Namo Amitabha Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. While it was your excellent insight that brought you to where I was waiting, what happened afterward was Buddha’s will.”

Tang Ha-ran grimaced and rubbed her wrist.

Jin Ja-gang ground his teeth and spoke in a low voice almost like a cry.

    “What nonsense is this!”

    Divine Nun asked Jin Ja-gang.

“Have you found the answer to the question I asked?”

Jin Ja-gang didn’t answer. However, Divine Nun confirmed that Jin Ja-gang’s gaze had changed briefly.

“Are you searching for it? Then it’s not yet time for you to die here.”

“Do you mean to let us pass? What do you want from us?”

“Seeking the Way is my only mission in this world of suffering. Though I don’t want to let you two pass, as a seeker of the Way, I cannot go against Buddha’s will to stop you.”

However, more surprising than Divine Nun was Tang Ha-ran’s action.

Tang Ha-ran pulled Jin Ja-gang’s collar to urge him to just pass by.

    “Miss Tang?”

Jin Ja-gang looked at Tang Ha-ran in surprise. Tang Ha-ran kept her mouth firmly shut and led Jin Ja-gang.

Divine Nun didn’t block them but stepped aside and quietly put her palms together.

    “Namo Amitabha.”

Tang Ha-ran didn’t thank Divine Nun and pulled Jin Ja-gang away from the spot. Behind such Tang Ha-ran, Divine Nun left a transmission.

‘You know better than anyone. If you don’t want to leave regrets, I hope you won’t act recklessly.’
