Chapter 59 – Dragon (6)

“It seems everyone has left.” 

Daniel opened his mouth after checking the traces left on the ground. 

“Quite some time has passed, after all.” 

Daniel nodded at Sun-woo’s words. 

The place where the two men were standing was a field a little distance from the village where Daniel had first parted with his servants. 

Fortunately, the secret passage the two had entered guided them to a new exit. That exit was on the middle of a mountain not far from the village where the two had entered the mountain range while being carried by the wyvern. 

When the two emerged, the passage returned to its original state, or so it seemed, as Sun-woo could feel that the underground path had disappeared. 

Since Isabel was also sealed, it was safe to say there was no way to enter the valley where the dragon was anymore, but Daniel showed no signs of giving up at all. 

After exiting the passage, the two men immediately descended the mountain, passed through the village, and arrived at the place where they had parted from their companions. 

“It doesn’t look easy to return, does it?” 

Sun-woo clicked his tongue looking at the surroundings where nothing seemed to remain. While he could return immediately once summoning was established, Daniel’s situation was different. 

“I can walk back.” 

Daniel answered calmly to Sun-woo’s concern. At his answer, Sun-woo worried a little inwardly. 

He had been somewhat frustrating to begin with, but now he looked not just frustrating but even depressed. But knowing the obvious reason, there was nothing he could say. 

When Sun-woo sighed after hearing Daniel’s words, a voice reached the two men.

It definitely seemed he had done well not to leave first.

While the two were exchanging greetings, the sound of a horse neighing came from afar. 

When the two looked toward the sound, a horse was running toward them. 

It was Daniel’s horse, Luci. 

“The fellow. You didn’t run away.” 

“Fortunate…” 

Sun-woo’s words were cut off mid-answer. Sun-woo had been summoned to his own world. 

Daniel looked at the empty space where Sun-woo had disappeared for a moment, then stroked his horse that had approached. 

“Thank you for coming back.” 

After mounting the horse, he pulled the reins. 

“Let’s go! To the capital!” 

Daniel began galloping the horse toward the capital.

At the same time. Sun-woo, who appeared in his studio apartment, threw off the clothes that were close to rags. 

He had been wearing them thinking they might help a little more with defense, but there was no reason to keep wearing them now that he was home. 

The moment he, now in just his underwear, was about to enter the bathroom, his phone began ringing. 

It was a call from Caroline. 

Checking his phone, he saw several missed calls from Caroline. 

‘What’s going on?’ 

When he answered the phone with a puzzled expression, Caroline’s voice poured out like a waterfall. 

“You’re not hurt anywhere, are you? I was summoned as the aftermath processing team for the mission you went on. Still, Sun-woo inwardly cursed at the Summoners who had given Caroline a mission without saying a word to him, who actually had the information. 

But then a voice reached Sun-woo’s ears.

“Perfect. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.” 

“Ah, could I ask one favor when you come?” 

At her words, Sun-woo, who had been looking at the clothes that had become rags, hastily spoke up.

Sun-woo couldn’t help but chuckle at Caroline’s words whispered quietly from the seat next to him. 

Caroline and Sun-woo were currently on a plane heading to the United States. 

After receiving new clothes from Caroline who visited in the morning, he immediately changed into those clothes, got into her sports car, and headed to the airport. 

And upon entering the airport, the two boarded the plane without standing in line.

After hearing about the mission Sun-woo experienced, Caroline also agreed it was a matter that needed to go to headquarters.

Caroline pondered his question for a moment, then soon made a mischievous smile. 

“No, you don’t need to worry. Just act like you normally do. The initiative is in your hands anyway, so do as you please.” 

Sun-woo could only make an uneasy expression at Caroline’s grinning appearance.

The two who arrived in San Francisco in the evening slept at the finest hotel provided by the association (of course, in separate rooms), then the next morning arrived at the association headquarters in a car with a driver. 

A massive 60-story building greeted Sun-woo and Caroline. It was the headquarters building of <Cleanse> that Sun-woo already knew well. 

“Welcome to Cleanse.” 

When the two got out of the luxury car, a sophisticated Black woman greeted them. 

“Oh, Sally came out to greet us? That’s quite a welcome.” 

Though she looked like a skilled secretary, Sun-woo immediately recognized that she was a summoned. 

“The mission came down directly from the chairman. Thanks to that, everyone’s a bit surprised.” 

“Well, that’s understandable.” 

Caroline nodded at the woman’s words. Thanks to that, the woman called Sally became curious instead. 

But she soon returned to her duty. 

“I’m Sally Christine. You’re Mr. Min Sun-woo, correct? I’ll guide you.” 

Sun-woo and Caroline followed behind Sally and walked into the building. 

It seemed Sally’s position was quite formidable. People passing by clearly watched nervously as she walked. If it had been Korea, there might have been a commotion of greetings. 

Passing through the lobby, Sun-woo could immediately tell this was where Caroline had been. 

Because quite a few people passing by gave eye greetings to Caroline. But though they made glad expressions seeing Caroline, they didn’t approach to talk to her. 

And among those people was someone who knew Sun-woo. 

“Huh? Hey, Sun-woo! What brings you here!” 

Michael, who had been talking with burly men, recognized Sun-woo and shouted loudly. 

Sun-woo also made a glad expression at the unexpected meeting, but their greeting was postponed. 

Because Michael, who had been approaching with a glad expression, recognized Sally in front of the two and his face turned pale. 

“Uh, uh, nice to see you. Well, call me after you finish your business. You know my number, right?” 

Michael, who finished speaking in a manner unlike his personality, turned around and began scurrying away. 

Seeing that, Sun-woo made an absurd expression, but what was even more ridiculous was that all the burly men who had been talking with Michael had already disappeared. 

“Tsk tsk, still?” 

At that sight, Caroline clicked her tongue lowly and Sally frowned slightly. 

Fortunately, nothing particular happened after that. 

The three people took the executive elevator to the upper floors of the building, and Sally guided the two to a meeting room that wasn’t very large. 

Though the meeting room wasn’t large, it was extremely luxurious. 

“Please wait a moment. Everyone will come out soon.” 

Sally’s words were correct. Less than 10 minutes after the two waited, three people entered the meeting room. 

A middle-aged white man with a bushy beard, a young and handsome white youth with shining blonde hair, and a woman in her 30s who appeared to be of Hispanic (Latin American) origin. 

They sat opposite from where Sun-woo and Caroline were sitting, then handed Sun-woo business cards one by one and introduced themselves. 

“I’m Douglas, the chairman of Cleanse.” 

“I’m Albert, a director of Cleanse.” 

“I’m Garcia from the Summoned Association.” 

The order in which they handed over business cards was the middle-aged man, the youth, and then the woman. 

Sun-woo, who hadn’t prepared business cards, lightly said his name, and Caroline, who seemed to know these people, just greeted them lightly. 

After finishing greetings, the middle-aged man sitting in the center looked at Sun-woo. 

“Busy association directors gathered in one place because a mission came down. Let’s hear what this is all about.” 

At his question, Sun-woo frowned slightly and tilted his head. 

At that appearance, the directors looked at Sun-woo with puzzled expressions. 

After a moment, Sun-woo’s mouth opened. 

“I’m also very busy but I came here. Well, let’s say this mission failed. I won’t tell you.” 

As Caroline had advised on the plane, Sun-woo decided to properly throw a tantrum.
