The boss of the Pyramid Dungeon, Osiris, was a humanoid monster no taller than three meters.

But a monster’s strength could never be judged by size.

Knowing this, the hunters who entered the boss room remained tense.

    “T-That’s an S-rank boss…?”

Its aura alone was enough to justify the title.

“E-Everyone, be careful. This one’s no pushover.”

“Should we charge in on three?”

“It seems like a mage-type monster, so spreading out might be…”

Though they held their weapons, their fear was palpable under the oppressive presence of the S-rank boss.

Min Do-jun smirked and stepped forward.

“Are you all really planning to fight?”

    “W-We have no choice.”

“If we don’t kill the boss, we can’t leave…”

    Do-jun drew his Ghost Blade.

    “It’s dangerous. Everyone, step back.”

    “Huh?”

    “Hunter, what are you doing?”

The team stared at him as if he were insane as he walked toward the boss alone.

The same look was mirrored by the D-team members, who obediently lowered their weapons and retreated.

    “Where are you going?”

“He told us to step back.”

“Wait, how can we just retreat? We have to take down the boss together!”

“Hunter Min Do-jun will handle the boss.”

The others looked at them like they’d just heard a bad joke.

But the D-team’s expressions were dead serious.

Having witnessed his miracles in the Oasis Dungeon, they firmly believed Do-jun could defeat the boss alone.

“If you’re not confident, just stay back. Don’t get in Hunter Min Do-jun’s way.”

“Right. Leave the boss to him.”

    Fighting an S-rank boss solo?

It was like watching someone walk into a pit of fire.

‘Come to think of it, they said he solo-killed an S-rank boss before.’

The way the D-team acted, it must be true.

‘Hard to believe, but is it real?’

‘Might as well see his skills for myself.’

The team stepped back, giving Do-jun space.

Honestly, they had no confidence in facing the boss themselves.

‘Survival comes before experience points or loot…’

They had no intention of stealing contribution points.

Still, they kept their weapons ready, just in case.

‘If things get dangerous, we’ll step in.’

They didn’t know how strong Do-jun was, but a crisis was inevitable.

Soloing an S-rank boss was no easy feat.

    But that moment never came.

    Because Do-jun was dominating.

    Slash— Slash!

    Groooaaar!

    Greeeaaah!

The mummies summoned by Osiris fell helplessly to Do-jun’s blade.

After clearing waves of endless mummies with Magnum Burst, Do-jun finally stopped.

    He had achieved his goal.

    [Current Kill Count: 50/50]

    [All stats increased by 50%.]

[Remaining Time: 59 minutes 59 seconds.]

‘That’s enough for the small fry.’

With his buffs stacked, he was ready to face the boss.

Activating Berserk to amplify his strength and agility, Do-jun charged like lightning.

    His target: Osiris’s neck.

But the surrounding mummies blocked his path.

    ‘Out of the way, trash.’

A swing of his blade sent them flying like autumn leaves.

‘Compared to the enhanced monsters in the Oasis, these are weak.’

Being summons, they felt even frailer than regular mummies.

Cutting them down effortlessly, Do-jun finally reached Osiris and swung his sword.

    Claaang—!

His blade stopped mid-air, blocked by a barrier.

But Do-jun wasn’t one to retreat after a single strike.

    Clang! Clang! Clang—!

He hammered at the barrier until cracks began to form.

It didn’t take long for the cracks to spread.

    Craaack—!

The barrier shattered, and Osiris’s body glowed red-hot in desperation.

    A life-force-based skill—Hellfire.

    Whooosh—!

Do-jun was engulfed in flames before he could dodge.

But with three resistance traits, set effects, and elixirs reducing damage by nearly 75%, plus an additional 15% reduction from achievement perks, the searing heat was nothing more than a warm breeze to him.

    Roar—!

Even the fireballs that followed barely fazed him.

Despite being bathed in flames, Do-jun pressed forward, unfazed.

With his high fire resistance, he had nothing to fear.

    [You have defeated Osiris!]

    [EXP +1,296,000] (Contribution: 100%)

    [Level up!]

    [S-rank Magic Stone obtained.]

    [S-rank Magic Stone obtained.]

    [S-rank Magic Stone obtained.]

    [Highest-grade Random Box obtained.]

    [Skill Transcendence Stone obtained.]

    [Pharaoh’s Crown obtained.]

A flood of joyous notifications appeared.

‘Magic stones, random box, transcendence stone—same as the turtle boss.’

The only new item was the crown.

    [Pharaoh’s Crown]

    – Type: Helmet

    – Rank: S

    – Defense: 16,000

    – Effect: +300 Magic Power, increases all stats of summons by 10% of Magic Power.

    – Durability: 27,000/27,000

    – Requirement: Level 3,000+

    – Description: The crown of a pharaoh said to be the incarnation of Osiris. Wearing it makes you feel like the ruler of a nation.

‘An item that strengthens summons based on magic power.’

At full buffs, Do-jun’s magic power was around 4,400.

‘Does this mean all of Ahr’s stats would increase by 440?’

In short, an overwhelmingly powerful item for summoners.

‘If only there wasn’t a level requirement, I’d equip it right away.’

Storing it in his inventory, Do-jun noticed another message.

    [Boss defeated.]

[Monsters blessed by Osiris have lost their power.]

[You will be transported out shortly.]

His gaze shifted to the party members.

    They stood there, utterly dumbfounded.

    He felt a little guilty.

    “Sorry for hogging the boss.”

    “N-No! It’s fine!”

“We wouldn’t have dealt much damage anyway.”

“We wouldn’t have dared to interfere.”

The party was already in awe of Do-jun’s overwhelming power.

    ‘He really soloed the boss…?’

    ‘This is insane.’

‘We were about to try and help him…?’

‘Good thing we stayed back. We’d have just embarrassed ourselves.’

As the relieved party members exchanged glances, a bright light enveloped the eight of them, transporting them out.

    —

    Gasp… gasp… gasp…

The only sound in the dark corridor was ragged breathing.

    Yoon-sik Oh and his group.

But what had once been nine members was now down to four.

Five had already fallen in battle.

    “D-Did we lose them?”

    “I-I don’t know.”

The survivors kept glancing back fearfully, checking if the shadow hounds were still chasing them.

But only two crimson eyes glowed silently in the darkness.

    “Eeek!”

    “I-It’s already revived?!”

    “Run!”

    Grrroooaaar—!

A shadow hound the size of a bull charged at them.

    “Power Smash!”

A warrior swung his hammer, landing a lucky hit on the hound’s head.

    It collapsed, biting its tongue.

    “Now!”

    Stab! Stab!

The team pierced the monster’s skull.

Even against a single foe, their movements were desperate.

But no one gained any experience points.

    No one questioned it.

No one thought the threat was over.

    “Before it revives, run!”

They knew they’d only bought a little time.

    But then—

    Grrrr… Grrrrl…

Two more shadow hounds bared their fangs, blocking their escape.

Behind them, the previously killed hound revived, joined by a mummy and another hound.

    “Ah…”

    “It’s over…”

    Despair clouded their vision.

    They had expected this.

There was no way to win against monsters that revived endlessly.

    “I… shouldn’t have followed…”

“We only came here because it was cold…”

In the face of death, they regretted one thing above all.

‘We should’ve listened to that hunter…’

Min Do-jun’s warning not to enter the dungeon.

But regret wouldn’t change their situation.

Surrounded by five monsters, there was no hope.

Four of them couldn’t turn the tide.

    “Don’t give up.”

    Yoon-sik’s voice was grim.

“They say those who cling to life die, and those who seek death live. Even in this situation, let’s do our best. We won’t know unless we fight, right?”

His words sparked a flicker of hope in the others.

Even in despair, he inspired courage.

    A true leader.

The members, who had secretly blamed him, now reflected.

He had led them into this hell, but he was suffering alongside them.

At least he was upholding his duty as a leader until the end.

“On three, we charge! Everyone, ready!”

    That’s what they thought.

    “One, two… three!”

Until Yoon-sik fled the moment they charged.

    “…!”

The three who trusted him and rushed at the monsters turned at the sound of explosions—only to see Yoon-sik disabling one monster and running away alone.

He had sacrificed them as bait.

Shock turned to rage in an instant.

    “You fucking traitor!!”

    “Aaaargh!”

    Crunch! Crunch!

As their comrades were torn apart and devoured, Yoon-sik didn’t look back.

‘Serves you right for being gullible, idiots.’

He was too busy running to spare a glance.

He had disabled one monster with magic, but it was only temporary.

He needed to put as much distance as possible to survive.

    “Huff… Huff…”

As a mage with no stamina investment, he quickly grew exhausted.

‘If I run into another monster now, I’m done…’

He could kill one alone, but the problem was its revival.

‘What’s the point of killing it if it just comes back?’

Regret gnawed at him for neglecting stamina.

‘And the pyramid’s heat is unbearable.’

Moving in this sauna-like environment drained him.

    Perhaps that’s why—

    Grrrrl…

A shadow hound catching up felt almost inevitable.

“Damn it. I sacrificed my team, and still…”

Seeing no other choice, Yoon-sik unleashed every spell he had.

    And finally—

    [EXP +27,000]

    He killed the shadow hound.

    ‘Huh? I got experience?’

The hound didn’t revive. It simply turned to smoke.

‘Did the monsters lose their immortality?’

He didn’t know how, but one thing was certain—he had survived.

    ‘Hahaha! I’m alive! Alive!’

Thanks to sacrificing his team, he had made it out.

‘If I can kill them, no number of monsters scares me!’

Of course, fighting multiple at once would be tough, but one at a time was manageable.

    ‘Bring it on!’

    Grrrrl…

    A growl made him turn.

    “Huh? A wolf?”

    It wasn’t a shadow hound.

    It was unmistakably a wolf.

“What? Was there a monster like this?”

    “It’s not a monster. It’s a summon.”

A voice from behind made Yoon-sik whirl around—

    “Who— Gahk!”

A blade pierced his lung, cutting off his words.

Before he died, he saw who had stabbed him.

    ‘M-Min Do-jun…?’

The last face he saw was undeniably Min Do-jun’s.
